Fields Of Gold gibt einen tollen Überblick über Stings Hitnummern und populäre Albumtracks (mit nur einer wichtigen Auslassung, "Mad About You"). Des weiteren findet man auf dem Album drei bislang unveröffentlichte Aufnahmen: "This Cowboy Song" und "When We Dance" sind komplett neu, während "We'll Be Together" hier in einer alternativen Version vorliegt.

Die Importversion dieser CD hat eine grundlegend andere, erweiterte Trackliste. "Fortress Around Your Heart," "Be Still My Beating Heart" und "Why Should I Cry For You" sind hier nicht aufgeführt, hinzu kommen dafür "Mad About You", "Nothing 'Bout Me", "Seven Days", "It´s Probably Me", "Love Is The Seventh Wave" und "Demolition Man." --Gavin McNett
